This project is a collaboration between the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media and the Media Design program at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
This film was created as part of the course "Advanced Studies 2 - Film" in the 5th semester.
Postproduction
As media design student, our task was to work together with the acting students from HMTMH as directors to identify the best film material through detailed analysis, focusing on the interplay between powerful acting moments and strom cinematography. To gain a deeper understanding of how the stoty and its essence, I initially created a values-based narrative. This proved to be a valuable tool for evaluating and enhancing the impact of individual scenes. In the story, both main Characters, Julia and Lukian, undergo a profound inner transformation, driven by a fundamental shift in their personal values.
Scene 1: Introduction
Lukian is on a high rooftop, on the verge of ending his life. In a moment of hesitation, Julia appears and disrupts the serious situation with a provocative, sarcastic remark: "Can you hurry up? There are others waiting to jump." This cynical comment highlights Julia's detached, perhaps even jaded, approach to the subject.

Scene 2: Conflict
In the following conversation, Lukian asks Julia about her motives for her behavior, hoping to determine which of them is worse off. Julia responds with sharp sarcasm, while Lukian struggles to openly talk about his own problems. Julia's indifference toward his explanations irritates him, yet at the same time, he feels an unexpected sense of connection, having found someone who seems to be in a similar situation.

Scene 3: Turning Point
Lukian finally gathers all his courage and reveals to Julia the true reason for his despair. This openness brings him a noticeable sense of relief. In that moment, Julia realizes that every person struggles with their own burdens and that problems which may seem insignificant to one person can be almost insurmountable to another. With newly awakened compassion, she sits down next to Lukian, trying to comfort him and find a solution together.

Scene 4: Resolution
Lukian is still engrossed in his thoughts when, in keeping with her resolute character, Julia suggests a pragmatic and surprisingly simple solution to his problem. When Lukian asks what should happen if his colleague has already seen the incriminating photos, Julia replies with a wry smile: "Then you can still jump." This ironic remark triggers Lukian to change his mind. He becomes aware that he has plunged himself into a spiral of despair, even though the dreaded event may not have happened yet. He realizes that problems often seem bigger than they actually are. Eventually, the two leave the roof together, symbolic of their inner change and return to life. remark triggers Lukian to change his mind.
